Terms of Service

Last updated: April 11, 2026

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of the Bookaam POS hardware, the Web Control Dashboard, the online booking platform, the personalized agency website, and any related service (collectively, the "Services") provided by Bookaam POS ("Bookaam", "we", "our", or "us"). By registering for or using the Services, your agency agrees to be bound by these Terms.

📜

Quick summary: Bookaam provides free POS devices, software, and support to legitimate bus transport agencies in Cameroon. You retain ownership of your data and routes. You commit to using the platform honestly and protecting your passengers.

1. Eligibility

The Services are available exclusively to bus transport agencies operating legally in Cameroon. By registering, you represent and warrant that:

  • You are authorized to act on behalf of a legitimate, registered bus transport business
  • You have the legal right to collect payments from passengers and operate passenger routes
  • You are at least 18 years old and have the capacity to enter into a binding agreement
  • The information you provide during registration is accurate and up to date

2. Description of the Services

Bookaam provides an integrated set of tools for bus agencies, including:

  • Bookaam POS device. Offline-first ticketing hardware with thermal ticket printing.
  • Web Control Dashboard. Centralized management of branches, routes, schedules, staff, and revenue.
  • Online Booking Platform. A passenger-facing platform where travelers can discover your agency and book seats in advance.
  • Personalized Company Website. A branded digital home for your agency at zero cost.
  • Technical support. A dedicated partner for device issues, platform questions, and updates.

The Services may evolve over time as we add features, improve performance, or adapt to regulatory requirements. We will provide reasonable notice of material changes.

3. Account Registration

To use the Services, you must complete the onboarding process by providing your agency information, branch details, and designated administrators. You are responsible for:

  • Keeping your account information accurate and current
  • Maintaining the confidentiality of staff PINs and administrator credentials
  • All activity that occurs under your account, whether authorized or not
  • Notifying us immediately of any unauthorized access or security incident

4. The Free POS Device Program

Bookaam provides POS hardware to qualifying agencies at no upfront cost. The following terms apply to the hardware:

  • Devices are issued for use exclusively with the Bookaam Services and may not be modified, resold, transferred, or used with competing systems.
  • You are responsible for physical care of the devices and for preventing theft, tampering, or intentional damage.
  • Routine maintenance, firmware updates, and reasonable wear-and-tear replacements are included at no cost.
  • If your agreement with Bookaam ends, the devices must be returned in reasonable condition within a timeframe agreed upon with our support team.
  • Bookaam retains the right to deactivate a device remotely if it is used in a manner that violates these Terms or applicable law.

5. Fees, Payments, and Commissions

The Services are provided to your agency at zero upfront cost. There are no setup fees, no device fees, and no management fees.

Revenue flows as follows:

  • Counter sales. Cash and ticket revenue collected at your branches belongs entirely to your agency.
  • Online bookings. When a passenger books a seat online through the Bookaam platform, a booking fee is charged to the passenger. A share of that fee is paid to your agency as commission, and the balance is retained by Bookaam to fund the platform.
  • Payouts. Commission payouts to your agency are made on a schedule communicated during onboarding. You must maintain accurate payout information to receive funds.

Bookaam reserves the right to adjust commission rates and fee structures with reasonable prior notice. Any changes will be communicated through the Web Dashboard or direct contact before taking effect.

6. Acceptable Use

You agree to use the Services lawfully, honestly, and in a manner that protects your passengers. You must not:

  • Create fake bookings, inflate revenue figures, or otherwise manipulate platform data
  • Use the platform to facilitate fraud, money laundering, or any other illegal activity
  • Impersonate another agency or misrepresent your identity to passengers
  • Attempt to reverse-engineer, decompile, or circumvent the security of the POS device or the Web Dashboard
  • Share staff PINs, administrator credentials, or device access with unauthorized parties
  • Use the Services to harass, discriminate against, or harm passengers or other agencies
  • Interfere with or disrupt the Services, servers, or networks connected to the platform

Violations of this section may result in suspension or termination of your account and, where applicable, referral to the relevant authorities.

7. Data Ownership and Privacy

Your agency owns 100% of its operational data — including routes, pricing, schedules, and passenger lists collected through the Services. Bookaam acts as a steward of this data to deliver the Services and does not claim any ownership rights over it.

Our handling of data is described in detail in our Privacy Policy. By using the Services, you also agree to the practices described there.

8. Intellectual Property

All software, designs, trademarks, and materials that make up the Bookaam Services remain the property of Bookaam or its licensors. We grant your agency a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use the Services for the sole purpose of operating your bus transport business in accordance with these Terms.

You may not copy, redistribute, or create derivative works based on any part of the Services without our prior written consent.

9. Service Availability and Support

We aim to keep the Services available and reliable, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted access. Maintenance windows, network outages, and issues beyond our control may occasionally affect availability.

Because the Bookaam POS device is designed as offline-first, ticketing operations at your counter continue to function even if the central Web Dashboard or the internet is unavailable. Data syncs automatically when connectivity is restored.

Technical support is included at no extra cost and is available through the contact details listed at the end of these Terms.

10. Termination

Either party may terminate this agreement at any time. If you wish to stop using the Services, contact us using the details below and we will guide you through the offboarding process, including the return of POS hardware and the export of your data.

Bookaam may suspend or terminate your access immediately if you materially breach these Terms, engage in illegal activity, or put passengers or the platform at risk. Where reasonable, we will notify you of the breach and provide an opportunity to correct it before termination.

Upon termination, your data will be handled in accordance with our Privacy Policy.

11. Disclaimers

The Services are provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis, without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, except as required by Cameroonian law. Bookaam does not warrant that the Services will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that any defects will be corrected within a specific timeframe.

Bookaam is not responsible for the actions of passengers, third-party payment processors, mobile network operators, or other parties whose services are integrated with the Bookaam platform.

12. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Bookaam, its officers, employees, and partners will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of revenue, profits, or data, arising out of or in connection with your use of the Services.

Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability for matters that cannot be excluded or limited under Cameroonian law.

13. Indemnification

You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless Bookaam from any claims, damages, losses, or expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising out of: (a) your violation of these Terms; (b) your violation of any law or third-party rights; or (c) your agency's operations and interactions with passengers.

14. Governing Law and Dispute Resolution

These Terms are governed by and interpreted in accordance with the laws of the Republic of Cameroon. Any dispute arising out of or relating to these Terms or the Services will first be addressed through good-faith negotiation between the parties. If the dispute cannot be resolved informally, it will be submitted to the competent courts of Cameroon.

15. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. When we make material changes, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page and notify active agencies through the Web Dashboard or by direct contact. Continued use of the Services after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
